The tenth race of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) championship will take place in the 19-20 October 2013 weekend in Hockenheim.
Traditionally, this has been a home race for Mercedes-Benz, as Hockenheimring Baden-Wurttemberg is pretty close to the three-pointed star home in Stuttgart.
As we were announcing last week, Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton will also be present at the 2013 DTM finale to drive a DTM racing taxi, chauffeuring guests and prize winners around the circuit.
Hockenheimring is usually the traditional DTM season opening race - as it was in this year's championship - so this is the second time in this season that the track is used.
The 42 total laps of the 4.574 km (2.8 miles) of the circuit equate to 203.322 km (126 miles), making it the second-longest race of the season after Spielberg.
“I associate my time in the Formula 3 Euro Series, which is a support series to the DTM, with many very fond memories and am looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces in the Hockenheim paddock,” said Hamilton, who will also attend a press conference in the Baden-Wurttemberg Center on Sunday 20th of October.
