A 29-year-old man from Texas, Nicholas Dagostino, is facing serious time behind bars on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, stemming from 2 separate incidents in which he shot at – and injured – 2 female drivers.
Initially, Dagostino tried to claim self defense, saying that both women had swerved in front of him in traffic, so he had no other choice but to use his gun, the Star-Telegram reports. However, he’s changed his story now, after his online profile has gone public.

According to prosecutors, what motivated these 2 attacks and at least 3 other more was a deep hatred of women. Online, Dagostino “holds a very dim view of women,” saying that they are “incompetent” as drivers and that their only purpose in life is “to give birth to male children.”

His attorney is claiming hearsay, arguing that his social media posts can’t be held to represent his actual views.

According to court documents, both incidents happened in broad daylight, in the Katy area of Harris County, west of Hudson. One occurred in July and the other in March, within miles of each other. Both female drivers told cops they had noticed an older model SUV, a green Ford Explorer, a 1996 to 2000 model, lingering by when they heard a loud crack and noticed their driver’s window cracking. Neither realized at first that they had been shot in the arm, though one noticed that the SUV driver was looking at her intently, as if he wanted to see if he’d hit her.

In court, Dagostino admitted to shooting at at least 3 more drivers, all of them female. Those were luckier, because he missed.

Currently, Dagostino is facing 2 felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $200,000 bail for each. Prosecutors are looking at throwing the book at him, saying he’s a “threat to female motorists” in the area.
