We’re exactly one month away from Halloween, which probably means you may as well start listening to Christmas carols. We kid, but only partly. With V10 out now, one Tesla owner has the perfect idea for the scariest Halloween prank.
The latest update V10.0 brings, in addition to more entertainment through Tesla Theater, enhanced Smart Summon. The moment the update started rolling to customers in the U.S., there was an abundance of videos showing people remote controlling their Teslas in relatively empty parking lots, to more or less very satisfactory results.
This one stands out. Posted to reddit by dltesla, it shows how a Tesla Model 3 could double as a Halloween-themed prank – and the best we’ve seen so far. If you recall those pranks from ages ago, when the driver would hide inside the driver’s seat and then order food at the drive-through, you will get a familiar feel about this.
This owner bought and placed a plastic skeleton in the driver seat, switched the Smart Summon on and then had the car drive itself through a parking lot. From the outside and especially to someone not really used to seeing cars drive themselves, it looked as if the skeleton was doing all the driving – especially since dltesla made sure to place its right arm on the steering wheel.
He says this is a perfect prank for Halloween, and can we really argue with that? You don’t need too many props (aside from the Tesla, of course and the skeleton) and the sky is the limit in terms of how you could improve on this and make it even scarier.
You can see a longer version of the video at the bottom of the page, as the owner made sure to upload it to YouTube as well. Meanwhile, the reddit community is working overtime to make the video go viral, while cracking jokes about how it basically shows any one of them as they wait for V10.0 to start rolling.
