With winter right around the corner, Tesla Motors has released a video in which it showcases the Model S electric sedan’s capabilities in cold weather climates.
The automaker says the EV is “a remarkable car in colder climates” that can perform on snowy roads even without all-wheel drive thanks to its innovative chassis design and traction control system.

Tesla’s state-of-the-art software features can also help the Model S perform better in cold weather conditions, says Chris Porritt, the company’s VP of vehicle engineering, while the vehicle’s retracting door handles are powerful enough to break the ice that might prevent you from entering the cabin after a long, freezing night.

Although most of these features are useless in California, America’s biggest EV market, we bet most owners living in US states with harsh winters, Canada and northern Europe are grateful for them.
