The Musk man highlights “several crisis issues with higher priority” have pushed the updated Roadster out of schedule. It’s anybody’s guess what the Palo Alto-based company’s chief exec is referring to, but some voices hint that Tesla had a few problems with the future Model X.

Set to start production in the third quarter of 2015, the Tesla Model X all-wheel drive and all-electric crossover will boast with so-called Falcon doors, which might’ve proved to be a bit of a headache in a potential crash scenario.

Another rumor flooding Tesla blogs worldwid points at the company’s problems in China

Regional president Veronica Wu left after less than 9 months and the Model S’ Google Maps-powered satellite navigation system that doesn't do China and the lack of Mandarin for the voice recognition system. But what should we expect from the Roadster 2.0?

During Tesla’s 2014 shareholder meeting, the automaker disclosed it would do “something cool” with the Roadster before year’s end. In addition to this, Musk disclosed to the Brits at AutoExpress a few months back that the Tesla Roadster update will boast with better range.

If the previously mentioned publication isn’t phaffing about, then we should look forward to a Roadster with a 400-mile (643 km) range, courtesy of a bigger battery pack and updated powertrain management software.
