Tesla is set to present a new vehicle, the Model X crossover later this year, with the car set to make its official debut at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show, which takes place in January 2012.
The vehicle tries to appeal to mainstream as well as to niche buyers, combining assets of and SUV with those of an MPV. This means that we’ll get goodies such as a hefty ground clearance, a generous cabin, which will offer seven seating capability.
The Tesla Model X will be underpinned by the platform of the new Model S and will be produced with minimal investment, as the platform is a modular one. Its design is expected to be one of its most important qualities, with Elon Musk, the company’s CEO being eager to show it to the world.
