Two years ago, RevoZport introduced the R-Zentric Tesla Model X body kit. Not long after that, the tuner revealed the first computer-generated image of the X-Treme.
An aerokit that "gives the car a real sense of off-road ruggedness whilst maintaining the true luxury level associated with the Model X," the X-Treme further promises forged alloy wheels "developed by the same company that creates the wheels for the [Mercedes-Benz] G-Class.
However, this evolution of the R-Zentric from 2018 still isn’t available to order. And frankly speaking, it’s not exactly off-road capable either.
This gets us to a transportation design studio from Istanbul in Turkey. Mostafa Moazeni Design took inspiration from both RevoZport body kits for the renderings you can admire in the photo gallery. Titled off-road body kit, the digital reinterpretation of the Model X features a thumpin’ great LED light bar on the roof, different rocker panels, a rear aerodynamic diffuser and wing, some plastic cladding on the front fascia, and a set of mud-terrain rubber shoes wrapped around new wheels.
Based on the width of the M/T tires and how they stick out from the wheel wells, the artist may have also taken a set of spacers into consideration. As the name implies, a spacer fits between the wheel and the hub and its purpose is to move the wheels more outside of the body.
Turning back to Mostafa Moazeni’s design study, bear in mind that it’s not real nor does it have any chances of happening anytime soon. On the other hand, there are real-world examples of an off-road Tesla Model X from across the pond. German tuner Delta 4x4 offers a rather simple package in the guise of the Off-Road Edition, consisting of four 265/45 by 20-inch tires and Classic B 9.5- by 20-inch rims.
Both the suspension and bodywork were left untouched, but still, the mud-terrains are more than enough for the electric SUV in mild off-road situations. Hitting more difficult trails is a big no-no considering the Tesla’s overhangs and ground clearance.
