The wait for Tesla's Model X electric crossover ends now after the Tesla Model X design studio opened today, giving us new info on the much-awaited EV.
Don't get too excited, though, as according to InsideEVs, the Model X design studio is only available for early Signature reservation holders. Still, the move offers us precious info on the Model X, inexistent up until this point.
However, there's only one option available, namely the 90 kWh Tesla X. Moreover, this particular Model X version comes with an EPA-estimated range of 240 miles (386.2 km).
Also, Tesla Motors specifies a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) as well as the green car's ability to blast from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds. That's Brabus-imbued Mercedes-AMG models performance, to be honest.
But that's not all. As we found out some months ago, the Model X will also be capable of towing stuff. Courtesy of a set of pictures posted on Tesla Motors Club, we can now tell you there's an optional towing pack being offered for the Model X, which allows the EV to pull up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg).
The good news for those mesmerized by the Ludicrous Mode is the Model X Signature Series can support it, but the feature comes for an additional $10,000. It's not cheap, but the Model X can go from 0 to 60 mpg (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds in Ludicrious Mode.
Leaving muscle aside, Tesla also included a Subzero Weather Pack ($1,000), which besides the Mortal Kombat inspired name offers a heated steering wheel, plus heated seats in the second and third row.
That's all the details we can provide so far, but we expect an avalanche of new info in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
