While Tesla itself is keeping us busy with the Autopilot function of its 7.0 software update, certain Model S owners are not exactly interested in self-driving shenanigans. These are the kind of drivers who like to use their Teslas for other purposes than the ones intended by the Palo Alto carmaker.
We’re not referring just to their heavy-foot moments, which defeat the green purpose of the EV, but also to the setup they choose for racing the EVs. Yep, it’s all about street racing with these guys, as shown by an owner who recently chose Mexico as a racing tourism destination.

With the police being considerably softer on drivers across the border, many of those willing to battle it out on the street follow this pathway.

The races were an effervescent mix of gasoline, electricity and thunders (check out the clip and you'll understand)

The Tesla drew the attention of drivers and riders with hp-savvy machines, as if its 85 kilowatts were used for an electromagnet, so the driver enjoyed plenty of we-don’t-recommend-this illegal action.

The P85D found itself at both ends of the winning stick and the vehicles it competed with made for an interesting line-up.

For instance, the Tesla showed its rear end to a couple of 600cc street bikes. Riders aren’t used to being left behind by drivers, especially by those using sedans, so it was quite a surprising night for them.

Then again, the Tesla was also treated to the bitter taste of defeat. That came from the back of a Procharged C7 Corvette. The ‘Vette also used cams, headers, as well as a methanol injection kit. With 740 horsepower at the wheels, the result of the race isn’t all that surprising. Fortunately for the fun of the clip, not the same can be said about other battles in this video.
