Episodes showing the Tesla Model S P85D drag racing various pieces of precious metal, from Lamborghinis to Challenger Hellcats, are already starting to become mainstream, but when Elon Musk tweets about such a battle, you know things are getting ultra-hot.
Actually, we meant to say cold, since the drag race we are talking about took place earlier this week in Norway. The dual-motor Tesla battled it our with a snowmobile and it all happened on the surface of a (you guessed it) frozen lake.
In the White corner, we have a 691 hp (701 PS) EV that relies on its all-wheel drive, while in the... multi-colored corner sits a Lynx Boondocks. The latter boasts with 158 hp (160 PS), which is quite a lot in snowmobile and and relies on its rubber track.
The production crew must've had a really easy time setting up the race. After all, the Tesla Model S is the best-selling car in Norway, a country that's not exactly poor in terms of snowmobiles either.
Returning to the feat, there was a thin layer of snow covering the ice on which the two vehicles raced. While the Telsa's AWD control appears to have done its job in am impeccable manner (standard winter tires were used), the snowmobile rider seems to have overfed the throttle on purpose during the start.
While we can't be 100 percent sure about that, we can imagine a snowmobile beating a Tesla Model S wouldn't have made it to Elon Musk's Twitter account.
