Tesla Model S P85D Delivery Time Is Down to 20 Days

Tesla Motors sure knows how to keep its wealthiest clients happy by adopting an interesting strategy regarding deliveries. In that respect, the Californian carmaker is handing over its top-of-the-line versions faster, in comparison to its less pricy models.

In case you’re a rather impatient individual, with plenty of dough and strongly keen on buying a Tesla Model S, here’s a useful tip: go for the priciest version. That is, the $105,000 Model S P85D.

We’re advising you to do that because Tesla’s most expensive Model S will have clients waiting for no more than 20 days (between online order and vehicle delivery), a lot faster than the standard waiting time for the carmaker’s other versions.

It looks like such a decision was made in order to increase profits and Tesla must have boosted production on the P85D version in order to support the new policy. Moreover, it is quite obvious that selling a more expensive Model S means higher profits.

Judging by the information available on Tesla’s website, orders for the $105,000 P85D will be delivered later this month. As a comparison, clients who opted for the S85 (priced at $80,000) or the S60 (priced at $70,000) will have their cars delivered in May 2015.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a Tesla spokeswoman confirmed the fact that Elon Musk’s company prioritized deliveries of the P85D. One main cause for this shift in policy was the fact that in the past years, cars would reach their owners quite late, some even after three months.

The word ‘sales’ might become Tesla’s neuralgic spot in the near future after low figures reported on the Chinese market led to staff cuts due to weak demand. In addition, Tesla Motors is well known for not releasing unit sales on monthly basis, as well as not disclosing the volume of unsold cars available for sale.
