As we promised last week, we're here to bring you what is probably the first drag racing episode involving Tesla's latest Model S, the manic-electric P100D.
Yes, anybody who read between the lines of our previous story on the P100D, which involved the EV performing some acceleration tests, could see the race against the Lamborghini Huracan coming - those of you who have a thing for supercar hues should know this Huracan borrows its Rosso Mars color from the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale.

However, this doesn't make the brawl any less exciting, which is why we won't risk ruining the fun of the video by letting you know what goes on in the clip.

Still, we can remind you that, back in the days when the P90D was the Palo Alto automaker's quickest effort, the Model S could keep up with a supercar, but only if the internal combustion machine didn't make use of its Launch Control feature.

And this time around, we get to see what happens when the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine's driver does use the full thrust of the V10 animal.

Speaking of which, we'll remind you the P100D's real-world testing mentioned above revealed the electron juice-powered vehicle delivers 567 kW/760 hp, which makes it about 90 horses more potent than the P90D. As for the scale footprint of the sedan, this sits at a chunky 4,795 lbs.

How does the performance based on those figures compare to the 602 hp, 3,135 lbs Raging Bull? In theory, the two sprinting-savvy machines have equal chances of showing each other's who's boss, at least until 130 mph (210 km/h) or so (the Lambo should take the lead from that point on). But you'll have to hit the "play" button below to find out.

P.S.: Anybody watching this and getting the pedal-on-the-right giggles should try to steer clear of the street action seen here - take things to the track, people!

Update:Now that the Model S P100D and the Huracan have taken the brawl to the drag strip, we can give you an instrumented 1/4-mile race. From EV and supercar aficionados to keyboard warriors, everybody should be happy now.
