Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous Runs 10.7s 1/4-Mile, Beats Corvette Z06

This Model S, which comes from Palm Beach, Florida, is one of the first to have been delivered around the country. So, without further ado, let's start dropping the real world figures.

The P100D, which runs on 19-inch all-season rubber and comes without the moonroof, tips the scales at a chunky 4,795 lbs. The Ludicrous mode is obviously on the menu.

All that weight is compensated for by some serious electric muscle stimulation - we're talking 567 kW/760 hp, which is around 90 hp more compared to the rating of the P90D.

The EV was taken for a spin by DragTimes, a YouTube channel whose owner, Brooks, used to drive a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera and has upgraded to a Huracan. Still, the man can hardly contain his emotions during the Launch Control act.

As indicated by the attached Vbox, the 0 to 60 mph run was completed in 2.54s, so the Palo Alto automaker's claim has been backed up. As for the 0 to 100 mph run, this was left behind in 6.52.

When it came to the all-discussed quarter-mile, the P100D Ludicrous delivered a 10.78s run at 128.5 mph. The conclusion? We already knew the P90D could keep up with supercars such as a Huracan in the 1,320 feet sprint, but only if the suck-squeeze-bang-blow machines didn't turn to their Launch Control stunts. So the triple-digit-named Model S can now rival those supercars without any special treatment.

Oh, and the Tesla time mentioned above also makes the sedan slightly quicker than the Corvette Z06.
