Rinspeed has plans for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show and we should be preapred to see their take on the Tesla Model S. Given the Swiss aftermarket specialist’ thirst for all things novelty, their choice for Tesla shouldn’t amaze us. As for the approach, we see their usual “full makeover” being used for the electric sedan, all under the name of autonomous driving.
Dubbed XchangE, the study comes to show the benefits of a car whose interior was designed from the ground up to take advantage of all the spare time the driver receives.
For instance, the seats resemble those in the business class and can also swivel. At the same time, Tesla’s own tablet-dashboard now seems outdated, as Rinspeed has completely redone the dash. The steering wheel can be moved alonged the width of the dashboard, while the dash itself has an all-display fascia. There’s even a Patravi TravelTec wristwatch in a transparent globe.
The list of cabin amenities includes a 32-inch 4K monitor in the rear. Of course, infotainment is at its best, with the list of goodies including a Harman system, Car2X communications, which communicates to the Cloud using an integrated LTE module (Deutsche Telekom).
As for the rest of the car, we get all sorts of developments, from an intelligent plexiglass roof to 20-inch Borbet rims. Nonetheless, there’s no mention of any tech mods, so we;ll assume that, underneath, this is the P85 model.
