Tesla Model 3 Walkaround Clip Shows Huge Storage Space Both Front and Rear

One of the first - if not the first - critiques people had after seeing the Model 3 unveil in March 2016 had to do with the trunk opening. Potential buyers feared it might be too small to fit larger objects and quite rightly wondered why Tesla didn't go for a hatch on the 3 as well.

It may not have seemed that way at the time, but that can actually be interpreted as a compliment. When you launch a new car that's supposed to be the most revolutionary one to date, and all the public can complain about is not being able to stick their two-week holiday luggage in there, you know you're doing it right. It shows they trust the company completely to deliver on the more important stuff such as the maximum range and performances.

However, Musk wanted things to be perfect with the company's first mass-market product, so he quickly addressed the issues. He said you would be able to fit an adult-sized bike through there, and even though it seemed unlikely, the community went with it and began the long wait for the production model.

The final Model 3 has been revealed at the end of July, and the fears surrounding the trunk opening died with it. Now, we get to see a very detailed walkaround video of a multi-coat red Model 3 with its trunk and frunk open, as well as the front doors.

The video reveals the ample storage space both at the front (you can easily fit a big suitcase there and still have room for smaller miscellaneous stuff) and rear, with the trunk appearing to have a significantly larger opening than on the pre-production vehicles. Most notably, it appears the lower lip has been made thinner and moved further down.

This short footage also makes it abundantly clear why Tesla went for the classic trunk lid opening, and not a hatch: it's that gorgeous, uninterrupted glass roof. It's definitely a beauty to look at (and through, we would imagine), and the contrast in provides also makes a very strong case for this particular color. It may not be Model S-beautiful, but the Model 3 is definitely a vehicle that's easy on the eye.
