Tesla Model 3 Rendered Again, This Time Dressed in Hatchback Clothing

There are few automotive prominent figures capable of adding fuel to the flame better than Elon Musk when it comes to teasing new models. And while official intel on the Model 3 is as scarce as water in the Mad Max movie, designers come to our rescue.

While Elon Musk is busy attending Tesla investors meetings where he likes to hint at new Tesla models just enough to make us go insane, designers are putting imagination to good use.

That's how Stumpf Studio came up with the Tesla Model 3 renderings you are about to see in the photo gallery. We had previously shown impressions on the Model 3 from Theophilus Chin - who based his renderings on the Model S - but now we're in for a different approach: a sort of five-door elongated hatchback. Or a longer BMW i3, if you please.

We won't insist on describing the car's looks, as your eyes will cover that. However, we'll use this opportunity to tell you more about the upcoming Model 3. The model is expected to arrive in March 2016 - according to Elon Musk himself, of course - but we're giving this announcement the raised eyebrow and the pinch of salt treatments.

When it finally hits the market, Tesla's Model 3 will try to offer an alternative to already proven models like the BMW 3 Series. There's a reduction in dimension compared to the ongoing Tesla Model S - by around 20% - while the price tag is also lower than the one set for the S.

Expect the sticker for the Model 3 to range between $30,000 and $35,000, but these are not official figures. For that kind of money, clients will receive an all-electric capable of going 200 or 300 miles (320 or 480 km) on a full battery charge. Also, Tesla will launch the Model X crossover in July when the model's online customizer will become active.
