Tesla Model 3 Prototype Spotted in the Street While Filming

We've seen the Tesla Model 3 during the presentation on March 31 and we've seen it in the official photos released by the Palo Alto company, but unless you've attended last month's event, you probably haven't seen it in the flesh.

Don't worry, you're not going to do that now either, but this could very well be the next best thing. I don't know about you, but the first time I saw Tesla's version of the "people's car," I wasn't entirely sold on that front-end design. Apart from the fact that it resembles a lost member of the Donald Duck family, our brains (I refuse to believe I'm alone in this) still find it hard to accept a car that doesn't have a radiator grille up front.

I know the Model S didn't have that either, but it did get that shiny black nose cone that took more or less the same space a grille would. It wasn't there to let air in and cool the radiator, but to comfort our minds. And it worked brilliantly. The Model X went a little further, and that's probably why I'm not so crazy about how it looks either. Well, that and the fact it's a fat pig that can outrun a cheetah.

The Model 3 goes all the way and comes with no opening whatsoever on the nose. It's got a prominent crest that's there for aerodynamics purposes and a pair of sleek headlights that manage to look cool without trying too much.

While its design wasn't a 100 percent instant hit as far as I'm concerned, it's grown on me since and now I think Tesla has nailed the space ship/down to Earth balance perfectly. It certainly stands out from the crowd, but at the same time, it's a perfectly normal-looking four-door sedan. And only by seeing it on the street was I able to fully realize that. Do you agree?
