The people in charge of Tesla corporate decisions must have a bone to pick with the Detroit Big 3 because they like messing with them. After ruining trucks for everybody, the next logical step would be to go after Jeep Wranglers and anything else that often gets turned into a mall crawler.
Jeep might actually beat Tesla to this objective, as they're planning a Wrangler-like product which they say will be the best thing since sliced toast. But what would happen if you turned a Tesla that can already be bought into an off-roader?

The non-obvious target is the Model 3, even though it has nothing to do with getting dirty. It's the only Tesla that can be considered cheap plus with really high production, ruining one wouldn't be such a big deal.

But what is a mall crawler? Well, this automotive phenomenon occurs when somebody spends a fortune on Jeep parts, accessories, lights and stuff like that but never hit the trail. So the vehicle never gets to do what it was meant for.

This 3D render is created Tice Ledbetter, who complained about how long his compute took to figure everything out. His creation involves the obvious lifting of the suspension and super-sized wheels. However, the accessories don't end there.

After the stock body is chopped up a little bit, it receives extensions for the fenders and underbody aluminum protection. Like any good mall crawler, this sports extra LED lighting and a cool spare. But it's the roof rack that got our attention.

That thing on the roof is the Tesla Powerwall, while the top of the trunk sports a Starlink antenna to communicate with satellites in low earth orbit. Tice says that with the rear seats folded, the Model 3 has room enough for people to sleep on, and there's even a special mattress you can buy. This sounds like one heck of a stargazing vacation.
