Tesla Model 3 Gets Rendered in Dozens of Colors, Looks Good in All of Them

Car manufacturers are very careful about the color they choose when they launch a new car. Get it wrong, and it could mean losing quite a few customers who would have otherwise bought the car.

Tesla won't be having that problem with the Model 3. People were queueing outside the closed stores to reserve one even before they had the chance to see its design, so the colors used for the three cars that joined Elon Musk on the stage or the other ones used for the rides later on have little to no relevance.

However, we did only see a few grays, a tan, and a red paint job, so we have absolutely no idea what to expect from the Model 3 when it finally enters production. Well, we can suspect that the Model 3 will offer the same limited, sobre options as the rest of the Tesla range, plus maybe one or two accents, but it would be nothing more than a supposition.

To be honest, Tesla's poor selection of colors wasn't that obvious until now: Model S' palette could almost be monochromatic, seven out of the nine available paint options being various tones of grays and blacks, plus the sun-loving white. The other two are a dark blue and the only refuge for those seeking something less boring: the red.

But the Model S is a large executive sedan (well, technically it's a hatch), and it's absolutely normal for cars in this segment to stay on the overly-serious side concerning their paint color. The Model 3, on the other hand, is going to attract a younger, more style-conscious public, and they're going to expect multiple personalization options. Hopefully, the purple version will only remain in the renderings made by Tesla Motors Club member bayol.

It all started with an innocent post asking the other members what color they would choose for their future Model 3, but soon enough things got out of hand once people realized bayol could make the Model 3 wear any kind of color. Requests flew from everywhere, but bayol managed to satisfy most of them. And that's how we can now have this photo gallery for you to browse.
