Well, this Craigslist user might have just opened the floodgates by posting the first ad for a used Tesla Model 3. It was bound to happen at one point or another, but it sure didn't take this person too long to realize there was the opportunity for some really easy money there.
As you probably know by now, all Tesla Model 3s delivered so far have ended up in the hands of company employees or investors. That means it's much easier to keep tabs on who's doing what with their vehicles, as well as sort out any production issues that might have gone through the filters ahead of the massive rollout to the general public.

So far, not very much has transpired about the EV, despite there being a lot of interest - not the least from those 400,000 reservation holders. That would suggest Tesla's confidentiality clauses have worked, but now a nearly brand-new Model 3 has surfaced on Craigslist.

The Model 3 is fully kitted with all the good stuff - premium interior, premium sound system, 310-miles long range battery, panoramic glass roof, aero wheels - and had an original price of $56,000. However, the seller is now asking for almost three times that, because of course they would.

With just 2,000 miles on the clock, this Model 3 can be yours tomorrow for $150,000. The seller tries to hide his get-rich-fast scheme by claiming "a unique circumstance" is forcing him to part with the car, but we all know what that is: the chance to make a very quick $96,000.

He insists there's nothing wrong with the car and that he plans to own one in the future again. He says it meets all the hype and that its fit and finish are impressive for an early production model, though we'd like to know whether that's by industry- or Tesla-standards.

Tesla did try to prevent this from happening, but aside from issuing a guideline, there's not much it can do about it once the vehicle had been paid for in full. “Because employees are receiving special priority, all Model 3 cars prioritized to employees must be registered to you or your family member and may not be resold for more than the original price. Reservation holders will agree to these terms when their order is placed.”

The owner is honest about not knowing what to price it, and we think he might have actually settled for too little. It's not like anyone in the line will pay Tesla Model S P100D money to have a Model 3, but we can only imagine the executives of a few German companies drooling over the possibility of dissecting one this early.
