Tesla Microbus Concept Is a Tiny House on Wheels, Packs a Bed

Those who are seeking proof of the fact that Tesla Motors's popularity is on the rise, despite all the controversy that continues to develop around the Palo Alto carmaker, need to look no further than the set of renderings that brought us here.

We're dealing with a virtual proposal that aims to address the lack of affordable homes in Southern California. Meet the Tesla Microbus, a concept coming from Shawn Moghadam.

The contraption we have here is basically a minibus that's designed to house a driver and perhaps a passenger 24/7, not just while the vehicle is on the move.

You can notice the details of the contraption in the Instagram posts at the bottom of the page and, if you zoom in on the image showcasing the interior, you'll notice a folding bed behind the front seats. And, given the benefits of the electric vehicle packaging, such as the battery pack being housed in the floor of the vehicle, the recipe appears reasonable.

The said artist believes the Palo Alto company would be more open to such a project than bigger names in the automotive industry. And the pixel wielder has a message to spread together with this visual adventure: "What if, for the price (and footprint) of a regular car, you could live anywhere you wanted to! Imagine... if you worked for minimum wage, and had to get your own place in Los Angeles, what could you afford? This is an alternative to that,"

The first thing that comes to mind is the range of limitations associated with such a project. Then again, one must keep an open mind and think of the trend involving tiny houses - if this accommodation solution seems to be working, at least for certain people, perhaps this Minibus proposal also has a chance. Regardless, the said artist has also come up with an offroading version, which you can find in the second Insta post below.

Here it is! The Tesla Microloft (aka Choo Choo) - A tiny mobile shelter. This is a personal design project, of an idea to deal with the California Homelessness crisis! What if, for the price (and footprint) of a regular car, you could live anywhere you wanted to! Imagine... if you worked for minimum wage, and had to get your own place in Los Angeles, what could you afford? This is an alternative to that. If you have any ideas about spreading the word, please let me know. Feel free to share!
