Virtually every exotic car manufacturer boasts with an extensive line of branded goods. Bags, jackets, you name it, there are lots of ways for automakers to rip you off $100 for a simple pair of slippers or a branded beach towel. And guess what - Tesla Motors will jump on this bandwagon too, in its own special way.
At the beginning of October, when the two-engined and all-wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D made its official debut, the American EV maker displayed a number of branded goods according to a recent report from Teslarati. The exhibits weren't much if we're to be honest, but it's a start nevertheless.
As you can see in the photo gallery below, there's Tesla-branded iPhone covers, gloves that let you operate the iPad-like infotainment display of the Model S, men and women's bags and an assortment of wallets. But there's a catch to these leather goods.
In comparison to Ferrari or Lamborghini, Tesla makes its apparel from leftover pieces of leather recycled from the interior trimming process of the Model S. Yup, other premium or luxury carmakers would never do such a thing because they don't share the same outlandish eco-friendly principles as Tesla Motors.
In addition to this bit of information, a Tesla spokesperson told the aforementioned publication that the excess leather goodies are slated to hit Tesla's online store "very soon." Not bad, Elon Musk, not bad.
