Tesla Is the Highest Satisfaction Premium Brand

Except for the few unlucky ones who had some issues with the AutoPilot feature, almost all Tesla Model S owners would go a long way to convince somebody how great their car is. As for those who bought the Model X... well, the SUV is still more of a hit or miss affair since it has some unresolved quality issues.

Overall, though, Tesla drivers are hooked to the extent where Elon Musk could get arrested for drug distribution. To call them "fanatic" would be a little derogatory, and would only stem from the fact that very few brands have managed to make their owners feel this way, thus making these overwhelmingly positive reactions seem somewhat extremist.

It wouldn't be the first time talks of a "Tesla cult" were heard, and that's because people are so happy about their vehicles, they want to share it with the rest of the world. Indeed, much like a preacher would. This satisfaction could be seen in the brand's Consumer Report survey score of 97 (after initially scoring 103, which was technically impossible).

Yesterday, Tesla managed to push Volkswagen out of the Top 10 most valuable car brands on its first ever evaluation, confirming it isn't the kind of newcomer that's too shy to play with the big boys. Today, Elon Musk's company received another good news, this time from the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Award.

For the second year running, Tesla scooped the award for the Highest Satisfaction Premium Brand, confirming once again that very few Tesla owners regret their choice. The study was conducted on 65,000 owners of new 2015 and 2016 model year cars and light trucks who were asked to evaluate 50 separate attributes ranging from the more subjective (styling) to those very down to earth (fuel consumption).

Speaking of the awards, AutoPacific President George Peterson said: “VSAs look at the big picture, which includes owners’ experiences with their vehicle’s quality and safety, but also goes deeper into the heart of the ownership experience.” As for the premium segment winner: “Tesla was new to the survey results in 2015 and won the top premium brand award by a considerable margin (23 points). They hold the top spot this year, though Cadillac has closed the gap considerably with the highly satisfying Escalade and increases in owner satisfaction across their lineup,”
