Ever since the construction of the highly anticipated Gigafactory started, there has been a decent number of drone footage being posted online. It’s almost as if Tesla Motors does not even waste the effort of publicly telling people what the current stage the factory is in, considering there will always be a UAV enthusiast taking new footage of the site.
Nevertheless, if the earlier videos would simply show an indistinguishable construction site, things are starting to form an actual shape this time. The first thing you may observe from the very beginning of the footage listed below will be the white with red accents exterior finish. These two are the colors Tesla Motors most often use.

Just to set things straight, the name of the factory comes from its planned annual battery production capacity of 35 gigawatt-hours (GWh). “Giga” is a unit of measurement that stands for “billions.” One GWh is the equivalent of generating (or consuming) one billion watts for one hour - one million times that of one kWh.

Works on the giant structure have started in June 2014 outside Sparks, Nevada, and the company wants to begin cell production in about two years from now. The truly ambitious plan, as you may already know, is for the Gigafactory to reach full capacity and produce more lithium ion batteries annually than were produced worldwide in 2013, by 2020.

Before you hit the play button, we also want to mention the latest figures related to the current stage of the construction field. According to Tech Insider, these are the most recent advances:

- $4.5 million spent by Tesla Motors to build the first phase of the Gigafactory's roof, which should be complete by February 2016
-solar panels will be installed later, whereas the white foundation make sure the roof stays cold
-millions of dollars have been spent building the “trailer city” around the factory
-the foundation of the Gigafactory alone cost an estimated $16 million
-$13 million were spent this summer on the steel and concrete for the building’s mezzanine
-reports are $300,000 were spent on the electrical infrastructure alone
-some further $10 million are expected to be spent on the “architectural interiors”.
