Remember the memorable “D” tweet Elon Musk made at the beginning of October? That mysterious social media move was disclosed on October 9th, when the 691 horsepower, Dual Motor all-wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D made its very first public outing.
Before the 3.2-second 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) came along, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat held the crown for fastest four-door sedan in the world. But the P85D wasn’t the only star of that October 9th event. The Palo Alto-based manufacturer then showcased a new business venture, one that was greatly overlooked by journalists invited at the event.

The location where the Tesla launched the all-new P85D featured a little room where leather goods branded Tesla Motors were showcased to the guests. Those that bothered to make it past the cocktail bar, that is. Nevertheless, an official disclosed then that the EV automaker is planning to sell branded goods in the near future, and that future is happening now.

Officially dubbed Tesla Gear, the company’s online apparel website is full of choices

From kids clothing to leather driving gloves and even a $42 beach towel. The most expensive piece we’ve identified from the inventory is a $400 Moab weekender bag, closely followed by a pair of two-tone totes priced at $300. For $100 you can even get a leather sleeve for your sleek iPad tablet.

You can check for yourself what else is there by accessing shop.teslamotors.com, but be warned - some stuff is as chintzy and wrong as most of the branded goods Ferrari sells for way too much money.
