Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk claims that the Model X crossover, which is scheduled to arrive in showrooms next spring, will eventually become more popular that the Model S sedan.

“Even though there is zero marketing for the Model X, it is like if you are going fishing and fish are jumping in the boat. We are not actually trying to sell the Model X at all, but demand seems to be remarkably high, Musk told analysts earlier this week, adding that he expects Model X deliveries to exceed sales of the Model S.

Underpinned by the same platform as the Model S, the Model X will be sold with all-wheel drive and will carry a slightly higher price tag when compared to the sedan, which starts from $62,400 in the United States.

Last year, Tesla Motors sold 22,477 units of the Model S, posting a full-year loss of $74 million.
