It seems like the i3 is already causing Tesla people some nightmares as the company’s Chief Designer, Franz von Holzhausen already stepped up to attack the new BMW, in a recent interview for Autobild.
We’re not really sure why this hostile attitude seems necessary over at the American company, since the i3 isn’t even in the same segment as the Model S but things are bound to heat up and quickly. Franz said that the i3 resembles a piece of IKEA furniture from the outside, looking a bit “strange and unconventional”. That is coming from a man that designed a car that looks neither evolutionary nor modern but rather like a 1990s Mazda and a man that claims it won’t follow in the footsteps of Audi and make the new Model X similar to the Model S. We’ll see about that.
At least he did compliment the modern interior of the car and we’re grateful for that. Maybe some other manufacturers could join in and use renewable energy and recycled materials in their production. Just saying…
