A recent report from The San Francisco Chronicle claims Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and Apple chief of mergers and acquisitions Adrian Perica had a secret meeting, fueling rumors about an upcoming iCar project.
Quoting an anonymous source, the Chronicle says the two met at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino last spring. Details are limited, but the report adds that Apple CEO Tim Cook might have attended the meeting as well to discuss a possible partnership with Tesla.

Rumor has it Apple could also try and buy the Palo Alto-based automaker, but there are too many “if’s” that make this assumption a little far fetch. On the other hand, it’s obvious that the Apple iCar is more than just a rumor.

“A source tells The Chronicle that Perica met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in Cupertino last spring around the same time analysts suggested Apple acquire the electric car giant. Six months before Ahmad’s letter, Musk met with Perica and probably Cook at Apple headquarters, said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect business relationships,” the SF Chronicle said.

It won’t happen with Fisker, who was acquired by China’s Wanxiang recently, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see something big coming from Apple and Tesla in the near future.
