Ten Sub-100g/km Citroens Offer Reason to Turn Green in Britain

Most carmakers these days say they are committed to offering efficient, environmentally friendly vehicles these days, and Citroen is no exception. In the British marketplace, the French carmaker is to offer 10 such fuel-sippers that emit less than 100g/km CO2 starting this month.

The list included everything from the full-electric C-Zero that burns no gas and has no tailpipes to different versions of the C3, DS3 and C4 hatchbacks. Recently joining Citroen’s army of green cars is are three new C3 models with a clean, green e-HDi 90 micro-hybrid powertrain, including second-generation Stop & Start.  One of the new e-HDi models boasts CO2 emissions of as low as 93g/km, with the two others sitting comfortably at 98g/km.  Fuel economy is an impressive 78.5 mpg and 76.3 mpg respectively on the combined UK cycle.

The C3 Hdi 70 manual VT has been revised, and the official homologation results show a drop in CO2 emission from 112g/km to 99g/km with improved fuel economy of 74.3 mpg over a combined cycle, up from 65.7 mpg.

The cars not only offer better economy, but also are get free V.E.D and central London commuters could save up to £2,500 a year with congestion charge exemption..Business users can also enjoy the lowest possible B.I.K tax rates - 0% for C-Zero and just 13% for the nine other diesel powered models.

“Citroen is committed to improving the efficiency of all its vehicles, minimizing running costs to benefit drivers and reducing emissions to help the environment.  With 10 Citroen models now emitting between zero and 100g/km of CO2, new car buyers have an even greater choice of environmentally-considerate models to suit a variety of driving preferences,” Linda Jackson, Citroen UK’s Managing Director, commented.
