As you already know by now, action sports star and rally driver Ken Block has a new ride (a custom-built 2011 Ford Fiesta), a new Gymkhana THREE to shoot but, apparently, he has no idea where to shoot it or what should he do in it.
This is why Block kicked off a competition for his fans. On the DC Shoes website, those interested may log on and submit two ideas: where the video should be shot and what new trick to be performed by Block .
The one who manages to impress the DC Shoes owner will receive a trip for two, to watch one day of filming of the Gymkhana THREE. The second and third best ideas will be awarded with DC Ken Block gear and autographed posters.
The car to be used by Block is emblazoned with similar livery to Block’s Focus RS WRC. The carbon fiber hydraulic e-brake handle has been changed to a custom-made metal piece, with Ken’s Huck Gee skull logo and No. 43 engraved into it. Block’s trademark “43” is placed not in the standard door location, but displayed in the side rear windows.
The vehicle is fitted with a purpose-built Olsbergs engine able to develop 850 bhp, but is restricted to 650 hp. Equipped with an Olsbergs MSE Maktrak (magnesium) six-speed paddle-shift sequential transmission, it is capable of 660 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm and needs just two seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.
There's no telling yet when the video will be done, but, as Ford already announced, it should get here this summer.
