Teenager Crashes ‘69 Camaro

It’s not enough blaming the unexperienced young drivers every time an expensive car is being crashed. It’s the parents that should think twice before handing over the keys to their dumb kids. That must have sound a bit harsh, but let’s face it! It’s the truth!

The latest crash that we heard of from Jalopnik is of ’69 black Chevrolet Camaro, which was in a perfect shape... at least until it landed on a private property. The kid put down 370' of rubber, and cracked the car’s rear axle.

Well, at least the kid escaped with no injuries... from the incident of course. We don’t know what happened to him after he faced his father, the rightful owner of the first generation Camaro. Meanwhile, he got a wreckless driving ticket and his father's insurance company gave up on paying anything.

What did the kid had to say for himself? Well, he told the cops that he was only doing 25 mph (40 km/h), when the clutch stuck... and he lost control. Do you find there’s something fishy in this story, just like we did?

Anyway, just to give you a hint on the car that was damaged, the first generation Camaro's premiere appearance was in 1966 and lasted up through the 1969 model year. In 1968, the side vent windows were replaced with Astro Ventilation, a fresh-air-inlet system.

Also added were side marker lights on the front fenders, a more pointed front grille, a front spoiler, and divided rear taillights. The front running lights (on non-RS models) were also changed from circular to oval.
