This is the kind of stunt you usually see in action movies, during intense chase scenes. Any of the “Jason Bourne” installments or “The Italian Job” are the most popular examples that come to mind.
This time, it happened in real life – in Bosnia, no less. A young man driving a red Peugeot 205 was being pursued by the police in the city of Banja Luka, when he chose to take evasive action by driving the car down a flight of steps.

Video of the deed has emerged online, on a local YouTube channel, and you can see it in full at the bottom of the page. The Mirror says that the most unbelievable part of the story (other than the fact that the young driver managed to pull off this stunt without doing too much damage to the car) is that he doesn’t even have a valid driver’s license.

The report doesn’t say why the 19-year-old man was wanted by the police in the first place. When he pulled off this stunt, he was riding with 2 friends who are 18 and 19 years old, respectively.

In the video, you can see the red car being chased by the police and heading swiftly for the stairs. The police cruiser pulls over and officers dismount, with one of them trying to pursue the suspects on foot. The Peugeot eventually speeds off, once it makes to the bottom of the stairs safe and sound. Police weren’t able to catch the driver on this occasion.

However, it is believed that the police were eventually able to identify the young man, since his age and the fact that he doesn’t have a valid driver’s license are known. For the time being, no arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.
