If you've been reading the motorcycle section of this website for some time now, then the name Tecnoart Sersan should not be completely strange to your ears and eyes. The helmet after the jump is his latest creation and we only wish that more manufacturers included such lids in their offer from time to time.
Thinking about the Milan-based customizer, William Melzi by his real name, MV Agusta motorcycles painted in striking liveries are most likely the first thing that comes to mind. His latest creation we showed to you was a mind-boggling, one-off MV Agusta F3 800 machine he created back in 2015.
Tecnoart's MV Agusta F3 800 Oscura was a one-of-a-kind darkened beast made in collaboration with the house of Schiranna, all dressed in carbon fiber pinstriped panels and accompanied by MV Agusta CEO Giovanni Castiglioni's signature on the certificate of authenticity.
Still, this is not the first or the only work commissioned by celebrities in the Italian market. Because Tecnoart Sersan is one of the go-to workshops when it comes to adding an exquisite paint to bikes or other bike-related gear.
This AGV Pista GP helmet was commissioned by Davide Polo, the admin of one of Italy’s main bike forums, Daidegas. The graphic scheme pays tribute to Akira Ryo, a Japanese rider who fought in both World Superbike and the premier class, in the last two seasons of the 500cc era and the first couple of MotoGP championships. The design sports the same "cursed flower" Ryo used to wear on his race lid.
After retirement, Akira Ryo became a development rider for Suzuki in 2006. His greatest performance was in 2002, during his home race at Suzuka, when he led most of the race, but, in the end, was overtaken by Valentino Rossi and had to settle for the runner-up position, almost creating a most unpleasant upset in the ranks of the Hamamatsu team.
