Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off Hit Sounds Better With This Cop Singing It

In order to make law enforcements look pleasant to the public eye, some countries hire beautiful police women to act as spoke persons for the local police departments. Others take charity initiatives and help out the poor every now and then. Dover Police department decided it would be cool to have officers filmed while they dance and sing on Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off big hit. Well, it works.

What first was believed to be a spontaneous dash cam video, soon enough proved to be a way folks over at Dover Police Department, Delaware, would promote their Facebook page. Nonetheless, the video showing Master Cpl. Jeff Davis jamming out to Taylor Swhift’s Shake It Off song quickly became viral, gathering over 14 million views over the weekend.

The Dover Police Department public information officer later told Today, that the video was a fun way to engage with the department’s Facebook page, which as we write the story has almost reached 18,000 likes. Hoffman said the numbers are a huge success considering the town has a population of about 38,000 and the department only started their page in October 2013.

However, the way the video was presented is probably the main reason it got so successful, after all nobody really expects a police officer to do that. Moreover, the video was introduced as “Dover Police Department Public Affairs production” and opens with a text that reads “While reviewing in-car cameras, we tend to see some ‘interesting’ things... We decided to share some of them with you in a new series called ‘Dash Cam Confessionals.’”

Question is, next time people meet officer Davis around town, will they be afraid or remember him as the man singing Taylor Swift’s song.
