When talking about the Spanish automotive industry, we can’t help but think about the Volkswagen Group-owned SEAT brand. It’s obviously not the only automaker Spain’s even had, but nothing compares to what you’re about to see below.
Dubbed Tauro V8 Spider and built in only 30 units, Spain’s first sportscar is actually a hybrid that consists of a Pontiac Solstice base, General Motors-sourced interior and V8 engine and several design cues that reminds us of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione or the Nissan 350Z.
The 6.2-liter V8 mill can deliver between 440 HP and 650 HP depending on the performance package selected and comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The base model can accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing start in only 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). The figures should be even more impressive with 650 HP under the hood.
The example shown in the video below is the first of the 30 Tauros to be built with a price that will start at €100,000.
