In February 2014, the crew over at Tata Motors will be revealing their Nano diesel at the Auto Expo, India’s biggest automotive exhibition.
Their goal is to show drivers the car’s ultimate advantage, it’s fuel efficiency. The Nano will most likely be powered by an 800 cc, 2-cylinder engine with a Garrett turbo charger and common rail direct injection system developed by Bosch. So, if the engine develops around 40-45bhp, this means it will return around 35-40 km per liter of fuel, making it quite an efficient vehicle.
Besides unveiling this Nano model, Tata Motors has other plans as well. The company will be unveiling a sub-4 metre sedan as well as a new hatchback, the two cars being a part of the “Project Falcon” range. So, it’s safe to say that they plan on having a comeback.
Let’s hope for the best since Tata’s former versions of the Nano have not managed to be as successful as they were expected. With this new diesel version we can assume that Tata hopes to shake things up and improve its market share.
