Tasty and Fast: 145MPH Racing Car Powered by Chocolate

The new racing car is made of vegetables and reaches the amazing speed of 145mph using chocolate as its fuel. Designers mixed vegetable fibres with resins in order to produce the car parts, while the oils in the chocolate were refined to produce fuel.

WorldFirst (a Formula 3 racing car - first one of its kind ever produced) is the name of the tasty vehicle and thinking that the steering wheel is made of carrots, its body is made of potateos and has a seat made of soybeans we might add that it would be a pretty healthy meal. In fact, a diet salad.

And as any salad needs, a bit of oil could be just perfect. The team behind the project thought just like true chefs do, using plant-oil based lubricants and a biodiesel engine able to run on chocolate and vegetable oil.

But the purpose of this new and special kind of vehicle has already been established. Its creators, the WorldFirst team ( from Warwick University, in Coventry, West Mids), hope that in the near future their eco-friendly technology will be used also by Formula 1 teams like McLaren or Ferrari.

"We hope the Formula 1 teams will see that an environmentally friendly car is not necessarily a slow car," a team spokesman told to telegraph.co.uk.

"We expect our new materials to be used by the Formula 1 cars of the future," he added.

It will be a while until we will see the unusual car on F1 race tracks. In the meantime, guys grab your girls and take them out for dinner and a movie. Dinner included in the ride. And don't forget, if the girl likes you she will stay for desert... and that is right under the hood.
