Pretty much any seasoned rider will agree with me when I say that even some might find it hard to believe, but the bike tends to go in the direction you're looking at.
The best proof to back this is the mechanism of target fixation. When a danger is assessed and the rider focuses on that specific obstacle or dangerous situation, the mind stops searching for alternate escape routes and sometimes the rider doesn't even make any decisions at all... just crashes.
This video is self-explanatory, as the second rider simply forgets to turn or brake firmly. He just goes "oh f*&%^$" and crashes off the road, even though his accident could have been easily avoided altogether.
Basically, even I understand now better an older rider's words: "when things go wrong, start looking for solutions instead of watching then go even worse!" Ride safe!
