Tanks Start Rolling on Washington D.C. Streets, Fighter Planes to Fill Its Sky

Ever since he attended the French military parade two years back and saw all those tremendous-tremendous weapons pass by in front of his eyes, American president Donald Trump has been dreaming to see his military do the same. And in a few hours, his dream will come true.

What good is to be the Commander-In-Chief of the world’s most powerful army if you can get them to parade on the capital’s roads on its most important day?

With just a few hours remaining before the start of the celebration, preparations are in full swing in Washington. Bradley fighting vehicles have been placed near the Lincoln Memorial, Abrams battle tanks will be stationed near the National Mall, and more are on the way.

In the skies over the city, the Air Force will bring the B-2 stealth bomber, the Navy will show up with F-35 and F-18 fighter jets, and even the marines will be on site with V-22 Osprey helicopters.

The Navy’s Blue Angels are expected to make a spectacle overhead as well.

The full size of the parade is not entirely known, as Trump chose to surround the entire event in a shroud of mystery. But he did promise the “show of a lifetime” directed by MC Donald Trump, “your all-time favorite president.”

“This is going to be a fantastic Fourth of July with increased access across the National Mall for the public to enjoy music, flyovers, a spectacular fireworks display, and an address by our Commander-in-Chief,” said in a tweet secretary David Bernhardt.

“We received an extraordinary donation for a phenomenal fireworks display, and our colleagues from the Department of Defense will be providing a one-of-a-kind music and air power experience including a flight demonstration from the Blue Angels.”

This July 4th parade will be the first in the nation's history to have the backing of the federal government. The exact cost of this domestic military adventure is not entirely known, but estimates start in the vicinity of $12 million and go much, much higher.

Trump’s decision to bring military hardware on the streets of the capital is also causing headaches for local authorities, who will be forced to deal with the aftermath.
