Uber Invites You to Take a Ride Aboard Optimus Prime

With the heavily anticipated fourth film of the Transformers franchise just around the corner, Paramount Pictures is cooking all sorts of cool cross-promotions in order to raise the hype surrounding the Autobots' upcoming Hollywood adventure.

Thanks to a recent partnership with the company that came up with the infamous Uber smartphone app, you can now summon Optimus Prime to roll out to your location and take you on an unforgettable 15-minute drive. So what do you need to do in order to roll with Optimus in Western Star 5700 mode?

The conditions are not that hard to follow, so pay attention: download Uber from iTunes if you own an Apple handheld or Google Play if you own an Android smartphone, install the on-demand car service on your device, open the app, tap "Set pickup location" and then tap "Roll out!". Easy peasy lemon squeezy, ain't it?

Be warned though - there's only one Optimus Prime so don't be discouraged if you fail to make contact from the first try. Persevere just like the Autobots do in their fight against the evil Decepticons and you'll be able to offer yourself or your kid one of the coolest gifts imaginable.

The Autobot leader in 18-wheeler semi-truck configuration will be coming to Phoenix, Arizona on June 19th and to Los Angeles, California on June 21st and will be available for a drive only in the 1 pm - 7 pm interval.

We remind you that Transformers 4: Age of Extinction will come to a theatre near you on June 27th, while the guys over at Rovio Entertainment have an Angry Birds Transformers game in the pipeline.
