TAC Anti-Accident Campaign Is Now 25, Carries On

Australian Transport Accidents Commission (TAC) is well known around the world for their very graphic, and some might say – brutal, series of commercials aimed at increasing road awareness and reduction of accidents.
This campaign was started 25 years ago and the results have been satisfactory, as the number of accidents was smaller than expected, given the demographic and car number increase. While TAC addresses card drivers, riders and pedestrians alike, here's one of their video involving a motorbike and stressing the speed issue.

With a lot of accidents occurring in urban areas, TAC sees obeying the speed limitations as a key factor in avoiding dramatic situations. After focusing on the drink and drive problem in the early commercials and coining the “if you drink and drive, then you're a bloody idiot” phrase as one of the most recognized and used parts of Victorian language relating to the matter, TAC brings a new message.

“Slowing down won't kill you” is the new slogan and the commercial speaks for itself, just like all the other ones.
