T-Boning A Car At Low Speed Still Hurts Like Hell

We are strongly promoting the idea that laying your bike down in case of emergency is a stupid thing to do. It is better to sit on it and try to brake as much as possible before the impact. On the side, you should train your dodging skills if you don’t want to crush your gonads even at low speed.
In case you are a new rider, you might be thinking that bumping your motorcycle against a car at a relatively low speed won’t hurt that much. You’ve probably bumped your car before and survived without a single scratch or bruise...

Well, doing so on a motorcycle is way different. First of all, you don’t have a seatbelt to keep you in the seat and then there’s the fact that you are not surrounded by soft plastics or rubber. On the contrary, you are holding a lump of metal between your legs and grab onto other pointy metal bits.

In case of a frontal impact, the laws of physics dictate that if your bike suddenly stops, your body tends to go forward, even at a slow speed. It’s called ‘inertia’ and guess which part of your body will suffer first if you’re a dude. If you said ‘balls’, you’re right; ten points for you!

We’ll end our little physics lesson with a short demonstration of the whole process as this Australian rider still had enough ‘balls’ to post his video after crushing them against the bike when T-boning a car.

Yes, he did slow down as much as he could, but another important thing he should have done was to try and move as right as possible to avoid the impact. Blaring the horn would have been helpful too. Personally, I think I’m abusing it since I started riding, but thankfully, it has spared me of being crushed by careless drivers numerous times.
