E-bikes are getting bigger and bigger by the day. More than this, they seem to be transitioning towards an already existing design, the motorcycle. Even major manufacturers like Harley-Davidson and Ducati are getting in on the action.
Now, some designers don’t yet have the same exposure as those major manufacturers. That's not to say that their work isn’t worth mentioning. Personally, unknown designers seem to be the ones that show up to the table with a little something different as they aren't constrained by market applications.

Vladimir Panchenko and Artem Smirnov are two well-known designers whose works we’ve seen before ‘round these parts. They’ve brought us the Carbogatto H7 motorbike and an Audi 18-wheeler that left us walking crooked. This time, they’ve spared no expense (time) and have presented us with more than just a visual effect.

It’s known as the Syqiq, and even though what we see it is a rendering, my understanding is that a one-off prototype of the trinket does exist, at least visually speaking. Well, whether it exists or not isn’t the point - the point is that it should.

Even the designers feel this way as they have gone far enough to create a website for this concept where it’s meant to be the next two-wheeled vehicle platform to hit our streets or rough terrains. If you take a look at the gallery, you’ll see a number of models for the Syqiq. Technically, each one includes different capabilities in order to reach as broad a market as possible, but so far, only the base vehicle (Hyperpedelec) and the E-Cross have seen more in-depth development. However, since there seems to be a shortage of time this year, we’re just going to show you the strongest of the bunch, the E-Cross.

When I first laid eyes upon this ravishing creature, I literally had to read the word ‘bicycle’ that’s stamped on the front fork just to understand that what I'm looking at is not a motocross bike, but rather a more beefed-up version of an enduro or cross-country e-bike. How beefy? Let's find out.

For starters, the blueprints show an aluminum alloy frame with a mid-drive engine setup. This has got to be the smartest thing you could ever do for the massive 11 kW (15 hp) power output. It keeps the power right between your legs, offering the perfect center of gravity, especially since a massive battery pack is a given considering all that power. For now, let’s stick with the hypothetical motor.

The BLDC outrunner motor with three-phase brushless motor is supposed to propel you on this crotch rocket to max speeds of near 53 mph (85 kph). And it’ll do a full zero to 53 mph in just 3.5 seconds. Try holding on.

As for the battery pack we mentioned, we know there’s one in there somewhere, we just don’t know where exactly. But we are told it has a capacity of 3100Wh, enough for a 62-mile (100-km) ride. Did you expect more range?

Let’s not forget that this wonderfully preserved unicorn is still just that, a unicorn. None to be found, none to be seen except on paper or in our dreams. However, and this is a big however, a real version of the Syqiq should exist, we just haven’t had any response from the team regarding the ride.
