Sylvania iPhone App 2.0 Announced

Some of you might remember that a while back, automotive lighting solutions provider Sylvania announced the introduction of one very useful iPhone app for motorists. Bluntly called Headlight app, the gizmo virtually replaced the company's lamp replacement guide and allowed drivers to have a better understanding of what lamps they need for their cars.

Now, Sylvania comes with the 2.0 version of the app, one that will provide better response than the previous one. Users can download the app from the usual locations and use it to find the correct replacement number for their vehicle's headlights, taillights, signal lighting and dome lighting.

The new version of the app also allows the users to select the make, model and year of their vehicle to quickly see a detailed listing of all the replacement bulbs available. Product photos and descriptions are also included in the app.

"Headlight 2.0 now houses 58 years worth of parts data, so virtually all installers, mechanics and consumers can use the app to find their replacement bulbs. No more thumbing through the 4-inch thick parts catalog,"
said Joe Verbanic, Sylvania Automotive Lighting marketing manager.

Now, for some, this app can seem as just a marketing stunt pulled by the manufacturer, but we have already found it to be one of the most interesting ones in the automotive world. Replacing the lights on the car has long proved a bitter challenge for those who are do-it-yourself kind of people. What's more, the app also saves tons of paper, saved by not printing the user guides for the headlights.
