American tuners Switzer Performance are not known for shying away from challenging projects. They make some of the most powerful Nissan GT-Rs on the road and have even placed their own version of Godzilla in Fast and Furious 6.
However, it's rare that they would target something with the propeller badge. In fact, this is the first time we've seen them tune the new BMW M5. It's called the Switzer P700 and has, you guessed it, 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm) of torque.
The package is proved from $6,995 (€5,300) and brings a host of other cosmetic and performance upgrades. A new high-performance, stainless steel exhaust system has been added to change how the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 breathes and sounds.
“If I buy a twin-turbo V8, I want to hear the twin-turbo V8. The exhaust gave us just enough sound through the less-restrictive mufflers, and the larger-diameter tubing increased the maximum amount of air we were able to move through the engine," says Neil Switzer, the company's primary performance consultant.
