This kind of automobile represents a particularly interesting opportunity for those private professionals who need to drive every day in and out of cities, carrying their stuff around. Then, at the end of the day and during the weekends, it fulfills the role of a spacious family car perfectly.
Because the French brand continues its global electrification push, the Peugeot Rifter compact MPV is now available with a 100% electric propulsion system, receiving the e-Rifter moniker in the process.

Some relevant facts and figures: it has a range of 280 km (173 miles) in the WLTP certification cycle, up to seven seats, and two length versions (Standard and Long). The luggage compartment can take up to 1,050 liters of cargo in five-passenger configuration, while the towing capacity is up to 750 kg (1,652 pounds). Inside the car, there is also a new digital Peugeot i-Cockpit for the driver.

Based on the advanced EMP2 technical platform, the Peugeot e-Rifter now adds the advantage of zero-emissions drive to its practical virtues. Its motor boosts a maximum power of 100 kW (136 PS/134 hp) and a maximum torque of 260 Nm (191 lb-ft) available right from the moment when the car starts moving - without vibrations, noise, gear shifting, odor and, of course, CO2 emissions.

The electric drivetrain (electric motor, inverter, and DC/AC charger-converter) is similar to one found in the new Peugeot e-Traveller. Like the latter, the speed limiter has been adapted to meet the loading constraints inherent to the use of this vehicle segment.

The performance (in Power mode) is as follows, though the specs are currently under homologation: a maximum speed of 135 kph (83 mph), zero to 100 kph (62 mph) in 11.2 seconds, and 80 to 120 kph (50-75 mph) in 8.9 seconds. The lithium-ion battery pack contains 18 modules and has a capacity of 50 kWh, so it's not exactly a long-range cruiser. Two types of on-board chargers are available to suit all uses and all customer charging solutions, with a 7.4 kW single-phase charger as standard and an 11 kW three-phase charger offered as an option.
