We’ll spare you the trouble of quick-reading through the article looking for the link: here it is. But as you can imagine, there’s a catch: the website’s stock is completely sold out.
At the time of writing this, the offer still had a little over nine hours before expiring, but the stock was long gone. There is no clear info on how many Teslas the website initially offered, as the available stock was only presented in percentage. And it now reads a very round 0%.

Still, AFP claims that QoQa.ch offered twenty 85Ds in total, but all of them were gone in less than half an hour. And why wouldn’t they, considering the website offered a 50% discount for one of the most sought-after cars of the moment?

The retail price for a Tesla Model S 85D in Switzerland is apparently 103,800 CHF (that’s Swiss Francs), but QoQa.ch sold twenty of them for 51,900 CHF - which is the equivalent of $52,730. In other words, the website has given away over half a million US dollars.

Of course, re-selling schemes had to be avoided so QoQa.ch made sure nobody would make an immediately profitable business on their anniversary offer by imposing a set of conditions. For instance, the cars had to be bought by a Swiss private resident and they had to be registered on the same name as the one buying the vehicle. The new owner won’t be allowed to sell their car 12 months from its first registration. And, best of all, a strict “one car per person” policy was applied.

100% electric and 50% off

Interested parties had to make an initial 3,000 CHF deposit online, before transferring the whole sum no later than December 22. In case the buyers wanted extra options on their car, they could do so but they would be paid in full.

It isn’t the first time the Swiss website pulls a stunt like this, as it was the same one to offer Porsche 911 Carrera S cars at half the price back in 2011.

Now, the website says that Tesla has granted it an extension for this offer and invites you to keep scanning the website if you're interested. However, if you don’t already own a home in Switzerland, getting one in time might prove difficult. But, you know, the things people do to get a discounted Tesla...
