There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the BMW M135i xDrive. And we mean that! During our test drive we found it absolutely impressive and wouldn’t let it go.
However, every once in a while, if you own one, you’ll end up talking about its arch enemy, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, with one of your friends or a guy at a stop light, or whatever.
That’s when the power output and 0-100 km/h (62 mph) numbers start to come out and you’ll have to admit that the Merc has better ones, even though they don’t actually matter.
Now, Swiss tuner Dahler decided to do something about it. They tuned the 3-liter engine to make the same amount of power as the A45, 360 HP and more torque, rated at 540 Nm (398 lb-ft).
You have to admit that you’ve always wondered what such numbers would do to the performance. Well, we’re here to tell you that the improve M135i xDrive does the sprint in 4.5 seconds (0.1 faster than the Merc), that’s with a regular 8-speed auto, not a dual clutch as on the AMG model.
Other visual changes were also done to the car but who cares? The engine and transmission are so good, you doesn’t really matter how your car looks like, get out there and kill some Mercs!
