Swarowski Studded Mercedes SL600 Unveiled at Tokyo Auto Salon 2009

The Tokyo Auto Salon usually brings to light all sorts of ugly/ghastly/horrible tuned cars, but this year's edition has surely exceeded the legal limit of good taste and elegance.

Luxurylaunches.com attracted our attention to the most hideous Mercedes SL600 we have ever seen in our entire life, presented (yes, you guessed it already) at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2009.

Have you ever imagined a Mercedes Benz studded with Swarowski? Of course, you haven't. Only a Japanese company  (to be found at www.dad-co.jp) could have imagined such horror. That being said, the truly “inventive” company has shown up at the Salon with a Mercedes SL600 studded with no less than 300,000 Swarovski crystals. And to make the menu complete, they didn't bring only one... but two of the same horrifying kind.

But don't get us wrong! It's not that we don't like Mercedes Benz.  On the contrary, we do consider Mercedes SL600 a real beauty as long as it stays as it is. We don't hate Swarowski either. Just that we consider such crystals perfect for wedding gowns, necklaces and hairpins. Not on cars and definitely not on a Mercedes SL600!

Almost needless to say, the Mercedes SL 600 is a truly high performance refined vehicle. With with its V12 biturbo engine, Mercedes SL600 makes 510 horsepower and puts out 612 pound-feet of torque. This twelve-cylinder engine accelerates the car from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

Nothing is known about the price of the Swarowski studded Mercedes, but little does it matter since no potential buyer has shown up. No wonder...
