Adventure-touring guru SW-Motech announces their latest soft-luggage system, Dakar. While the name surely makes imagination go wild, these bags are “civilian-grade” items, engineered for casual use on everyday rides and which will also prove a great companion in off-road trips.
The SW-Motech Dakar bags are really convenient especially for those who are not willing to spend the big bucks on hardcases and their racks. While hard sidecases look extremely good and are very roomy, they sometimes get damaged when the bike flips over on rocky off-road. Such problems are eliminated when it comes to soft luggage, and this means more peace of mind.

The SW-Motech Dakar bags come with a dual-layer construction. The outer layer is made from 1680D ballistic nylon, and can withstand quite a lot of abuse. Given the fact that reinforcements on riding gear are often made from 600D or 1000D Cordura, you can figure out for yourselves hot tough these Dakar bags are.

The inner liner protects the content of the bags from water, helped by the roll-top closing system. The rigid preformed ABS honeycomb backing on the side which attaches to the bike helps riders fix these bags on the panniers and keeps their shape, while D-rings allow other gear to be strapped to the bags.

SW-Motech Dakar bags are available in teal-gray and red and come in 35 x 45 x 25 cm (14x18x10 inches) sizes. 2 bike-specific panniers are included, and the package sells for €349.95 ($481).
